ILOILO CITY, April 14 (PNA) — The Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) here has put in place security measures for Oplan Summer Vacation.

IPPO director Senior Supt. Cornelio Salinas said they will be putting up police action centers where most people converge for immediate response in case of contingency.

Salinas said it is expected that a large number of people coming from different places will be converging in beach resorts, markets, bus terminals, seaports and airports and other tourist destinations throughout the province.

The director said he already ordered his chiefs of police to detail enough police personnel in these areas especially those terminals and ports used to cater tourists in going out to other provinces in the region.

The IPPO has 1,699 organic policemen assigned in different police units.

Salinas said these policemen will be in-charge in maintaining peace and order in areas under their area of responsibility. (PNA)
