ILOILO CITY, Mar 28 (PNA)–The London School of Business and Management has forged partnership with Guimaras State College and two other schools in offering management courses to college students in Western Visayas.

John Fairhurst, Managing Director and Academic Principal of the London School of Business and Management, came here Thursday to formally launch their new offering in a tie-up with Guimaras State College, St. Robert’s International Academy and Amity Global Business School.

Fairhurst during the launching and press conference said that their school is a private college in London that has decided to bring higher education to the Philippine schools so that they no longer have to move away to avail of the kind of education and diploma they so desire.

He said that the United Kingdom higher education could be completed here in the Philippines through the enrollment of the students with their tie-up schools offering Baccalaureate course in Business and Management and then master’s degree later on. “Students if they wanted to could also avail international experience for a year or two at the London School of Business and Management where they would finish their course,” Fairhurst said.

Guimaras State College president Dr. Rogelio T. Artajo said they are excited to start something new by providing their clients or students international education. He said that their collaboration with the London School of Business and Management and the other schools is part of their enhancement of services by providing quality education as their school gears to become a university in the near future.

Dr. Robert F. Galindez of the St. Robert’s International Academy said that their school is an early implementor of the K+12 program of the Department of Education as preparation of students for the entry into London School of Business and Management that requires 12 years of elementary and high school.

After completion of the K+12 at the St. Robert’s International Academy here in Iloilo city, students could proceed to the Guimaras State College or Amity Global Business School where they would be enrolled for their four-year baccalaureate course and then proceed to the London School of Business and Management for another year.

Students taking the course would have two diplomas upon completion that of the Guimaras State College or Amity Global Business School for the Philippines and then the London School of Business and Management for their international diploma.

This way, graduates would be more competitive and gain higher employability as the Philippines is also gearing for the ASEAN Integration 2015. (PNA)
