ILOILO CITY, June 26 (PNA) — Vice President Jejomar Binay will be keynote speaker of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Joint Eastern and Western Visayas Convention tomorrow, June 27 at Hotel del Rio, this city.

Atty. Von Lovell Bedona, IBP Western Visayas governor, said in an interview Thursday that they expect around 260 IBP officers and lawyer members from all over the Visayas island to gather for the convention.

He said that they have chosen the vice president as their keynote speaker as he too is a lawyer.

Binay, at around 8:30 a.m. Friday, will also join residents of Barangay Libertad, Iloilo City in a boodle fight breakfast.

The appointment of the Vice President here Friday will coincide with the provincial visit of President Benigno Aquino III.

The President will inspect several infrastructure projects implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways in Iloilo City.

Philippine Army 301st Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Arnold Quiapo, in a separate interview, said that they are now ready to secure the visits of the two highest leaders of the land.

He said that starting today, there will be covert intelligence personnel deployed. “Around 100 Army, Navy and Air Force personnel will be deployed,” Quiapo said. (PNA)
