ILOILO CITY, July 3 (PNA) — There were 65 applicants who were hired-on-the-spot (HOTS) by the participating companies at the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) job fair held Wednesday at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol lobby.
The job fair had a total of 1,601 applicants — 616 males and 985 females.
PESO chief Francisco Heler said that 74 business process outsourcing (BPO), local and overseas companies participated in this year’s job fair.
The job fair is held annually by the Iloilo PESO to provide job opportunities for fresh college graduates and those others looking for employment.
Heler said that help desks were set up by the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency, Social Security System, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Department of Foreign Affairs, and Technical Education Skills and Development Authority that assisted applicants with their documentary requirements and provided information.
