ILOILO, April 7 (PNA) – Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. led Iloilo’s 113th anniversary kick off celebration Monday by inspiring provincial government employees to continue on their noble service for the government.

Defensor, who delivered a message in a program right after a mass for the weeklong celebration for the province’s 113th founding anniversary, said that employees as now seeing a better government than years before because of services rendered.

He took also the chance to thank the employees and those who participated in last Saturdays massive mangrove planting activity where there were 5,000 mangrove propagules that were planted in Tigbauan town as part of the weeklong celebration for the province’s anniversary.

The governor after delivering a short message this morning at the capitol lobby led the ribbon cutting for the Garden Show and “One Town One Product” display at the capitol’s parking area.

The Garden Show is an activity organized by the Iloilo Provincial Agriculture Office headed by Dr. Ildefonso Toledo to showcase the different agricultural products. This is participated in by the different farmers groups and cutflower associations.

There are other various activities slated to be held until this Friday with this year’s theme: “Padayon ang Reporma kag Pagbag-o” (Continue the Reform and Change). (PNA)
